Agenda
Ryukyu Kobudo (Okinawa Kobudo) enthusiasts from inside and outside the prefecture and overseas deepen exchanges and friendships in Okinawa, the birthplace of Ryukyu Kobudo, and aim to further popularize Ryukyu Kobudo and improve awareness and branding, promoting Okinawan culture. This international open tournament for Ryukyu Kobudo uses a hybrid format that combines face-to-face and online events with the aim of attracting tourists.
In Okinawa, only this tournament will hold actual Ryukyu Kobudo kumite (hard kumite and soft kumite).

Competition content* Classes are subject to change depending on the number of participants.
● Kata competition (face-to-face)

・ The Kata competition is a flag tournament, which is a two-person battle between Bo stick and Sai. (14 classes each)
1. Boys and girls elementary school 3rd grade
2. Boys and girls elementary school 4th grade
3. Boys and girls elementary school 5th grade
4. Boys and girls elementary school 6th grade
5. Junior high school men
6. Junior high school women
7. High school men

10. General male (Kyu grades)

12. Middle age general male (50 years old and over)
13. Middle age general female (50 years old and over)
14. Persons with disabilities
* If desired, the middle-aged class members (Kyu grades) are allowed to participate in their respective general male class, and the middle-aged class members (Dan grades) are allowed to participate in their respective general male class as well.
* If desired, 1st and 2nd grade elementary School members can participate with the boys and girls elementary school 1st division ( 3rd and 4th grade ).
● Kata competition (online)

    Upload video submissions to the World Ryukyu Kobudou Championships secretariat using the box at the bottom of the page.
Awards will be given online on the day of the competition.
・ The online kata competition is for Bo stick and Sai only.  (All katas must be traditional Ryukyu kobudou and Okinawa kobudou katas.  Please check the katas chart sheet. )
There will be 6 classes of competitors. * Age is as of April 1, 2025
1. Boys and girls elementary school 1st division ( 3rd and 4th grade ) 8 to 9 years old
2. Boys and girls elementary school 2nd division ( 5th and 6th grade ) 10 to 11 years old
3. Junior high school students (boys and girls) 12 to 14 years old
4. General Female 15 years old and over
5. General Male (Kyu grades) 15 years old and over
6. General Male (Dan grades) 15 years old and over
    
● Actual battle Ryukyu Kobudo kumite (face-to-face only)

・ Nanshiki (beginner) kumite competition 7 classes

● Awarding of prizes
1. Awards will be given to the 1st through 3rd place winners in each class.
2. Overall winners, General Male and Female (*Face-to-face entry only.)
3. Rookie of the Year award (Boys and girls from elementary school to junior high school. *Face-to-face entry only.)

● How to participate in online competitions
Participants are kindly requested to submit the video of the type taken by December 19, 2025 (Friday) from this site form.
* 1080p (Full HD) recommended. The file size should be less than 1GB. * If the file is large, it may not be possible to send it.  
● How to pay
Please pay by the designated method on December 19, 2025 (Friday).
* Participants from overseas can pay by paypal, and the secretariat will inform you by email after applying for participation.
