Agenda

Ryukyu Kobudo (Okinawa Kobudo) enthusiasts from inside and outside the prefecture and overseas deepen exchanges and friendships in Okinawa, the birthplace of Ryukyu Kobudo, and aim to further popularize Ryukyu Kobudo and improve awareness and branding, promoting Okinawan culture. This international open tournament for Ryukyu Kobudo uses a hybrid format that combines face-to-face and online events with the aim of attracting tourists. In Okinawa, a competition exclusive to this tournament, Ryukyu Kobudo Kumite, will be held.
At this tournament, we introduced the world’s first AI scoring in the Bo stick “Specified Kata: Ufugushiku no kun”.

Competition content* Classes are subject to change depending on the number of participants.
● Kata competition (face-to-face)

・ The Kata of competition is a flag tournament, which is a two-person battle between Bo stick and Sai. (9 classes each)
1. Boys 1st division (3rd and 4th grades of elementary school)
2. 2nd grade of elementary school (5th and 6th grades of elementary school)
3. Junior high school students (men and women)
4. High school students (men and women)
5. General female
6. General male (Kyu grades)
7. General male (Dan grades)
8. Middle age (50 years old and over)
9. Persons with disabilities
* If desired, the middle-aged class members (Kyu grades) are allowed to participate in the general male class, and the middle-aged class members (Dan grades) are allowed to participate in the general male class as well.
* First and second graders of elementary school can participate in boys’ first division.

● Kata competition (online)

Send videos to the secretariat outside the prefecture.
Awards will be given online on the day of the competition.
・ The events of the online kata are Bo stick and Sai (Regulated Kata) and Bo stick (Specified Kata: Ufugusiku no kun). (6 classes each). * Age is as of April 1, 2023
* Bo stick “Specified Kata: Ufugushiku no kun” class is graded by AI. face-to-face competitors can participate in both online and face-to-face competitions.
Bo stick (Specified Kata: Ufugushiku no kun) is 3 m from the camera to the performer and 1.2 m from the ground to the camera height.

2. Juvenile division two (5th and 6th grade elementary school) 10 to 11 years old and under
3. Junior high school students (boys and girls) 12 to 14 years old and under

・Koshiki (Advanced) kumite competition 2 class
1. General high school boys and above
2. General high school girls and above

● Awarding of prizes

1. Awards will be given to the 1st through 3rd place winners in each class.
2. Overall winners, General Male and Female(*Face-to-face entry only.
3. Rookie of the Year award (Boys and girls from elementary school to junior high school. *Face-to-face entry only.)Tokyo Disneyland pair tickets or 20,000-yen travel voucher

● How to participate in online competitions

Participants are kindly requested to submit the video of the type taken by November 10, 2023 (Friday) from this site form.
* 1080p (Full HD) recommended. The file size should be less than 1GB. * If the file is large, it may not be possible to send it.

● How to pay 

Please pay by the designated method on November 10, 2023 (Friday).
* After confirming the application details, the secretariat will inform you of the payment method.
